Karen Rapp Bull

Karen Rapp Bull during her exhibition at Cerulean Arts

As I work in my studio, I engage with the materials in the way I experience Nature. I am hiking in the woods, hearing the sounds, watching the light change, and feeling the air. Or, I am working in my garden, getting dirt under my nails, checking for new growth, surrounded by the motion of the creatures that fly, run, crawl or buzz by me. Wind, rain and temperature change everything. Nature’s energy is in motion, constantly creating and recreating from outward influence and inward physical synthesis. I want to bring that energy to my hands and heart and allow myself to behave as a painter the way nature behaves.
