I began my serious artistic journey in the early seventies with the discovery of the etching process. Eventually I realized that I was more drawn to the shading effects produced by aquatint than the bitten line. I switched to making monotypes in the early eighties.
My love for the landscape consumed most of my artistic output, but adhering to the rigors of perspectives, lighting, and details made for tense art time. To find release, I spent eighteen months exploring the possibilities inherent in the monotype medium; using different tools, trying different styles, playing with different effects. A gallery exhibition assignment called “Creatures” led me to the worlds that I am showing in this exhibition.
