Art Journaling: Things Remembered with Dressler Smith


Create an art journal from the fabric of your life! Learn to translate your personal memories and writings into symbolic images and quotes in book form using mixed media drawing, watercolor, pastel and collage. Instruction in basic visual art elements and design principles will assist you in crafting a cherished keepsake book or gift for a loved one.  Students will have the option to work inside the gallery classroom or outside.  No art experience necessary.

Supplies Required:

  • one fine tip, permanent marker
  • watercolor pencil set (6 or 12 colors)
  • pad of mixed media or Bristol paper

    Dressler Smith is a painter and pastel artist.  She studied at the Fleisher Art Memorial, the Hussian School of Art and holds a BFA from Moore College of Art.  She seeks to capture beauty in a way which invokes both awe and reverence and touch the human spirit. Dressler has executed many mural and public commissions including stained glass designs for several New Jersey churches. She has exhibited her work widely and received many awards and recognitions. Dressler will be featured in an upcoming issue of In Touch magazine with an accompanying film.
