Katie Knoeringer is a Philadelphia-based artist originally from New Jersey. Her collages originate from sketchbook drawings: maps of interiors and everyday spaces recorded quickly and intuitively, then evolve slowly and organically in a process akin to painting.  The resulting collage becomes a new interpretation, evocative of gesture and light. Her work has been featured in the book 500 Paper Objects as well as on the cover of POST (Philadelphia Open Studio Tours). Katie’s work has been exhibited in Philadelphia as well as nationally, including at Jonathan Ferrara Gallery in New Orleans and the Annual Delta Exhibition in Little Rock. Her recent solo shows include exhibition at Cerulean Arts and  House Gallery, Philadelphia. Katie taught at Drexel University and Moore College of Art & Design in Philadelphia until recently moving to Kentucky. She is currently a full-time drawing instructor at Murray State University, Kentucky. An avid animal lover and jogger, Katie lives in Paducah with her husband, son, and a load of cats.
