Learn to complete a painting in one sitting, alla prima, or “all at once” in this online Zoom class with Susan Sullivan!  Learn the basics of this direct and exciting technique as you paint from your own still life, window, photographs and more.  Topics to be covered include setting up a still life and other subjects, lighting, composition, color mixing, using warm and cool colors and brush work.  Includes lecture, demonstration and group critique.  We will paint together, share our setups and paintings and have some fun while we're at it. Susan Sullivan is an artist and member of the Cerulean Arts Collective, based in Portland, Oregon.  Her current paintings focus on the motif of the swimming pool, formed from a combination of memory and invented imagery, characterized by sensuous color and staccato mark-making.  She holds an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and teaches studio art and art appreciation at Camden County Community College and other institutions.
