Modern Weaving Workshop with Jeanne O'Shell via Zoom
Have fun with fiber in this live Zoom workshop! Design a handwoven tapestry from start to finish using a lap loom with yarn and a few other tools. Learn weaving essentials: warping the loom, adding volume with the pile weave, creating texture with rya knots, and keeping tension with the tabby weave. Attach a dowel for hanging and add some elegant fringe and tassels to complete your fluffy masterpiece!

Jeanne O’Shell is a Philadelphia artist who graduated with a Certificate of Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 2014. Although trained in painting, she makes work using multiple mediums, including fiber arts. Currently she creates marketing materials and social media content for Abington Art Center and teaches drawing and painting at various institutions.
