Painting Beyond Observation with Susan Sullivan via Zoom
Have you hit a conceptual wall with your artwork? Eager to get your own ideas on canvas, but don’t know how to do it? Taking the first step is sometimes the hardest. Learn practical strategies to move your work beyond observational study and give free reign to your ideas and concepts, including working from your own artwork, the still life and more. Artists of the past and present will serve as inspiration. Basic painting experience required.

Susan Sullivan is originally from Portland, Oregon, and holds an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Her current paintings focus on the motif of the swimming pool, formed from a combination of memory and invented imagery, characterized by sensuous color and staccato mark-making. She teaches studio art and art appreciation at Camden County Community College, and is a member of the Cerulean Arts Collective.
