Painting Without Fear with Keith Leitner (In-Person)

Learn to paint your way through the questioning and uncertainty of the art-making process in this intuitive, practical and empowering two-day workshop with artist and Cerulean Arts Collective member Keith Leitner.  The focus will be on materials driven experimentation and investigation while learning to dispel the voices of criticism in your head and perceiving doubt as a valid means of investigation rather than a paralyzing force. Discover the freedom that comes from generating imagery without preconceived outcomes. Discussion of the role materials have played in modern painting, painting practices and feedback on students’ previous work will supplement studio activity. Instruction will be presented on an artist-to-artist basis, whether participants are beginners or seasoned artists, representational or nonobjective.  Watercolor materials will be provided, but students are welcome to bring the painting materials they are comfortable using.

The workshop will include a tour of Keith Leitner's Cerulean Arts Collective exhibition, on view December 7, 2022  - January 15, 2023.
