Pastel Drawing with Joe Sweeney


Learn everything you need to know about drawing with soft pastels!  Instruction will cover technique, use of light and its effect on color, types of pastels available, paper selection for various effects, fixing and transporting finished drawings, and important safety issues. Work from the still life and/or your own photographs.  All levels welcome!

Materials List 

Joseph Sweeney is a professional landscape painter living in Ardmore, PA. He received a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts) and an MFA from Penn State University. He has taught for many years at area institutions and art centers including PAFA, the University of the Arts, Wayne Art Center, Woodmere Art Museum and Chester Springs Yellow Springs Studio. His work has received numerous awards and is included in many public and private institutions, collections and museums.
