Plein Air Painting Workshop with Joe Sweeney
Join Joseph Sweeney outside the gallery and learn the basics of painting outdoors! Topics include the basics on choosing a prime location, reading the weather and light at a particular time of day, and setting up a landscape palette. Drawing, composition, and color will be emphasized. Instruction is geared towards oil, acrylic, and pastel, but experienced watercolorists are welcome. In the event of rain, class will be held in the Cerulean Arts classroom. Be sure to see his Cerulean Collective exhibition on view June 2 - 27!

Joseph Sweeney is a professional landscape painter living in Ardmore, PA. He received a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts) and an MFA from Penn State University. He has taught for many years at area institutions and art centers including PAFA, the University of the Arts, Wayne Art Center, Woodmere Art Museum and Chester Springs Yellow Springs Studio. His work has received numerous awards and is included in many public and private institutions, collections and museums.
