Underpainting and Layering in Oils, Acrylics and More!: Live Zoom Talk with Anthony Ciambella

$10.00

Join noted painter, sculptor and mixed media artist Anthony Ciambella for this live Zoom talk and PowerPoint lecture exploring traditional and contemporary techniques for underpainting and layering in oil, acrylic, and tempera paint. The skill of building multiple layers of transparent and translucent paint over an underpainting (glazing and scumbling) is as relevant today as it was to 15th-century Northern European artists who recognized its potential for achieving luminous color and depth. Lecture topics include painting supports (canvas & panel), color palettes, painting mediums, monochromatic and color underpainting, color mixing and layering techniques. Essential for painters of all levels and styles, and ideal for non-artists interested in learning more about painting! Bring your questions!
