Writing an Artist Statement with Kate Samworth (ONLINE)

A well-written artist statement is honest and illuminating and is intended to deepen your audience’s connection with your work.  It is also essential for exhibitions, grant applications, entry into juried shows, and more.  Despite the necessity, many of us find it a daunting task.  If the thought of writing an artist statement fills you with dread, then this is the workshop for you!  Led by Kate Samworth, professional artist, illustrator and educator, you will share your artwork with a small and supportive group of fellow artists, discuss your ideas, process, materials, and influences, then be guided through the process of drafting and revising a statement to share with the group.  Come away with a polished statement you can be proud of!

Saturday and Sunday, March 12 & 13
9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
