Encaustic Painting Workshop with Sandra Koberlein
Have you ever wondered what encaustic is? It's melted, pigmented beeswax! This ancient painting medium is experiencing a major resurgence. Let's bring it back!
This workshop covers everything you need to know to start creating with encaustic including a brief history of the medium, equipment needed, setting up your work-space, mixing colors and safety, as well as collage, image transfer and combining oil paint with wax. Hands-on work time will enable participants to create up to two paintings. Feel free to bring things you’d like to include in your paintings: photos, pressed plants, and miscellaneous ephemera. No previous experience needed; great for beginners!
