Cerulean Arts is pleased to present A World of One’s Own featuring work by Jeremy McGirl, Andie Olson and Wanda Payne.  Jeremy McGirl’s works revolve around birds in a backyard environment and combine drawing, painting, collage and sculpture.  He explores the gaps and smudges of memory – where reality, perception and experience converge and where things are both lost and found through the contemplation of past, present and future.  Andie Olson creates lush, colorful dreamscapes combining floral and landscape elements.  Paying homage to the tradition of women craft, her obsessive attention to detail allows her to delve deeper into her psyche, and ultimately captivate the viewer in her world of deep female mindfulness.  Wanda Payne makes abstract works on paper, canvas and scratchboard characterized by energetic lines and marks. Through her engagement with materials in the creative process, she seeks to reveal hidden truths about her identity and discover her true self in contrast to societal expectations.  Although utilizing different media and with distinct aims, the three artists invite the viewer to explore their own unique worlds within worlds.
