“Tranquility” was created to represent peaceful places–real and imagined–that bring me a sense of calmness and happiness. I find that life can be very overwhelming and art is what helps me slow down and appreciate the world around me. My love of nature heavily inspires my subject matter, while I use bright colors to make my paintings whimsical and cheerful.
Gouache has been my favorite medium from the day I discovered it. I am able to utilize the medium’s opacity to paint in layers, similar to how I learned digital art growing up. Over the years, I have developed a style that feels like fantasy and technology merging together. To me, the painting process and the pieces themselves are portals to another world where all of life’s problems fade away.
I hope you enjoy the series and you are overcome with a sense of… tranquility… (get it? hehe)
