Donna Streisfeld

Donna Streisfeld

"I am captivated by seeing an image emerge on a painting surface. I am drawn to natural landscapes as well as the figures within them. The 'process' of creating art is as meaningful to me as the painting I produce."
Donna Streisfeld developed a passion for pastel painting that was born out of time at home in 2020. "I have always enjoyed art and was inspired to paint in watercolor after a trip to Monet's home and gardens in Giverny in 2014. I had been working as a therapeutic harpist at a local hospital when my job, like so many others was put on hold. I had previously enjoyed a few local pastel classes. Time at home during COVID allowed me to sign up for my first online course with pastel artist Alain Picard. That was when I truly fell in love with soft pastels! The opportunity to take on-line classes and paint every day began my journey as a pastel artist. I continue to love to create art from my life and travels, and share it with others. Originally focused on the natural landscapes of Maine and the Blue Ridge Mountains, Donna’s recent work demonstrates her study portraiture and the of the human form."
