Heather Pasqualino
As a visual learner, I process the world through color, movement, and art, so it should come as no surprise that I consider painting my first language. I believe that the act of painting is deeply personal. The finished piece results from a thousand decisions across countless hours, among many thoughts and feelings fed by instinct.
I intend to draw the viewer in through a visually pleasing composition while using colors, stroke patterns, and texture to travel the viewer's eye from one corner of the canvas to the other. Whether a still life, a landscape, or an abstract, while being a stationary object, I hope that the observer is transported within the image and experiences a sensation of movement within the place I have pulled from within my mind and imagination. In short, painting allows me to accentuate the scene and effectuate the unseen.
