Jacob Lunderby
Control of observation, problematic utopianism and mediated environments are themes that have appeared, mutated and returned in differing forms in my work for some time. A recent development in the work includes an engagement with vision and semiotics of private property (care), construction signage and the altered landscape/built environment.
The current body of work continues a method of making paintings via the use of digital photography, inkjet printing and mounting prints to wooden panels with subtle enamel embellishments. Through layering half-tone patterns (wood grain, condensation on a window) over images of leaf patterned construction fencing or the setting sun, my objective is that the work activates varying distances of engagement be it optically or conceptually in looking at or through the constructed landscape.
