For a long time, I’ve had an interest, curiosity and attraction for the relationships of shapes, patterns and color. The source of all my works comes from an inspiration directly connected to the real world; be it a particular place or experience, manmade or organic structures and forms, or simple and fleeting things that have caught my attention amongst the clutter of day to day life. Many of the forms first appear as drawings in a sketchbook, where they are redrawn, reconfigured and eventually incorporated into more formal assortments of other new and older shapes and images. As in life, things come and go, newer shapes and compositions replace older ones and on we go to whatever lies ahead. I like to think my life’s experiences are reflected in the work I make, which represent a loose visual narrative of things that have caught my eye along the way.
