Ritva Kangasperko In my art I want to communicate that we humans have huge amounts of potential, talents, and opportunities – much more than we can imagine. And that our connection to animals, birds and nature could be great fun if we let it. The figurative, narrative painting approach gives me an unlimited number of options to show this all.
My art is about visions, images and stories that I must tell. Often based on my dreams. I want to create uplifting and fun images. Hoping to make you smile. When my artwork is whimsical, there is still a message. And there is always a story.
My process is spontaneous, intuitive, easy and free of rules. While materials and technique are important to me, my process itself is not analytical or logical. My art comes from the heart. It is about finding new undiscovered dimensions for us and nature around us. It is about the joy of life.
