Shifting Perception
Cerulean Arts is pleased to present Shifting Perception featuring mixed media pastels by Jill A. Rupinski. Using landscape imagery Rupinski pushes representation toward the surreal, emphasizing the vague and suggestive. Her subject matter is taken from observed nature of trees, vistas and animals, relying on memory and photos taken while riding her horse. Rupinski's painterly fusions take the viewer to imagined places with ambiguous visual experiences.
Jill A. Rupinski is a Professor of Drawing and Painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She is represented in numerous private and public collections including Colgate University, Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, Villanova University and the University of Pennsylvania.
