Cerulean Arts is pleased to present The Human Form: Endless Inspiration featuring drawings and paintings by Robert Osti, Carolyn Pyfrom and Patricia Traub. Study, observation and interpretation of the human figure is the center of each artist’s creative endeavors. Roberto Osti’s sensitively rendered charcoal and chalk drawings on toned paper are precisely accurate but breathe with life. The rigorous anatomical study of the human figure is not a restriction for Osti, but an aid to creative freedom. For Carolyn Pyfrom, every act of painting provides an opportunity to test what one notices, pays attention to, and cares about. She aims to create a convincing sense of light and atmosphere, working with a muted, carefully controlled palette that accentuates the textural quality of her figure paintings. Patricia Traub’s virtuoso oil studies display her complete knowledge of the human form translated into paint. She works from observation to create arresting works of humans and animals, the context of which is about our responsibility to all living things and the environment in which we live.
