Cerulean Arts is pleased to present Uncompromising Vision: Sidney Goodman with Bo Bartlett, Vincent Desiderio, Gilbert Lewis, Barbara Mimnaugh, Elizabeth Osborne and Hiro Sakaguchi. This exhibition features drawings and paintings from the 60s and 70s by renowned artist Sidney Goodman, who exerted a profound influence on generations of artists and students, myself included. I knew and admired Sidney's work, especially the early depictions of family members with their dynamic composition and powerful drawing. Learning he was on the MFA faculty led me to study at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and I am extremely grateful to have had the chance to work with him. I appreciate the opportunity to now coordinate this exhibition of Sidney's work, along with artists connected to him, whether as friend, peer or former student. To me, they share a similar intensity of artistic vision, a commitment to their craft and to the wonder and strangeness of life observed.
