Making Music with Oil Pastel Workshop with Regina Ottman
You are invited to bring your curiosity and sense of play to a one-day exploration of music, art and oil pastel! Music and art have always been sisters, inspiring and challenging each other. Using oil pastels, we will delve into how the elements of music combine with our own experiences to foster unique ideas, inspiration and voice in our individual artistic practices. Oil pastel is a beautiful, vibrant, versatile medium that can be used in both linear and planar ways, resulting in a plethora of mark-making possibilities. During the workshop, we will explore painting and drawing with oil pastel, as well as ways to incorporate other media into our work. All levels are welcome!
The workshop will include a tour of Regina's Cerulean Collective exhibition, on view 13 January - 8 February, 2026.

Regina Ottman is a member of the Cerulean Arts Collective. Her early teachers discovered she has perfect pitch and synesthesia (color-music), both of which provide her a particularly rich source of imagery. Her work has appeared in shows throughout the Northeast, including the Philadelphia Sketch Club, The Plastic Club (Philadelphia, PA), Loft Artists Association (Stamford, CT), the annual Ellerslie Open at Trenton Museum of Art (Trenton, NJ), Perkins Center for the Arts Annual Juried Exhibits (Moorestown, NJ) and Tri-State Artists Equity. Her paintings, drawings, prints and encaustics hang in private collections throughout the eastern United States, including such varied spots as the Cooper Cancer Center in Camden, NJ, the office of the president of Camden County College in Blackwood, NJ, a Center for Family Services safe house, and on a community wall mural at Twisted Tatt2 in Camden, NJ (featured Spike TV's Tattoo Rescue.). Ottman lives in historic Laurel Springs, NJ.
